TO OUR CLIENTS, FRIENDS & ASSOCIATES:
I welcome you to our Annual Report for 2008, a year of unprecedented growth and expansion. In every division of the company, design, production, live entertainment, and media, we have achieved remarkable success. Our projects have been successfully realized not only here in the United States but in multiple countries throughout the world.
In 2008, we more than doubled our size in terms of revenues, staffing and resources. We also moved into our new international headquarters in North Hollywood, more than doubling the size of our studio, and providing our staff with a greatly expanded and enhanced working environment.
With this growth has come a new name to better encompass our expanding international presence and to better represent our growing enterprise: the Goddard Group. But as you will see, while our name has changed our mission remains the same. We are creating, designing, and producing the greatest attractions in the world.
As evidence of this I would point to our amazing
track record:
With a host of our new attractions opening throughout 2008, and more continuing to open through 2009 and beyond, we have become ... in six short years ... the preeminent independent theme park & attraction design company in the world.
Our ability to conceive concepts that actually get built, coupled with our talent for creating attractions that are highly successful, provide the key reason that we have been able to grow so rapidly and in so many markets around the world.
A good deal of our success comes from our pledge to quality in every project we undertake; a commitment that has led to continuing relationships with major U.S. based companies like Six Flags Corp. The Hershey Chocolate Company, Paramount Parks, and Georgia Aquarium, to name but a few.
This dedication to excellence has provided a strong platform for a wide range of expanding relationships with leading developers and companies in countries that include China, Macau, Sweden, Korea, Indonesia, Dubai, Qatar and the Philippines.
We pride ourselves on our ability to successfully integrate our team with talented partners and associates in every part of the world. With the preceding in mind, I would like to provide an overview of the company today.
The Goddard Group is divided into three entities: Design, Production, and Operations. Each of these units contribute to the companyâs successful operation.
The Design Group provides quality concept, planning, and design services to the leisure, recreation, hospitality, theme park, and entertainment industries. Composed of four separate units: Entertainment Design, Hospitality Design, Brand Experience Design, and Design & Planning. The design teams work together as necessary to ensure every project, regardless of where it originates, successfully integrates planning, theming, entertainment and design into a single realized vision.
The Production Group provides quality project management, producer services, production supervision, media production, and operations for all of our ongoing projects. The Production Group is composed of four separate units: The Producers Group, Live Entertainment, Licensing & Products, and Media Production.
The Operations Group is the administrative arm of the company and provides overall corporate services and support, including Marketing & Sales, IT Services, Administration, Accounting, and Human Resources.
With the overall structure of the company in mind, here are some brief highlights of the exciting work on the horizon in each area of our business.
DESIGN:
The Entertainment Design Group has been actively involved in creating the concept, design and master plan for both Six Flags Dubailand ⢠and another project for Six Flags in Qatar. Both projects promise to set a new industry standard with regard to the concept, planning and guest experience, building upon the heritage of Six Flags greatest thrill rides while adding a host of new immersive and innovative attractions. In addition we are involved in a wide range of international projects in places like China, Korea, Macau and Indonesia. We have created the concept and master plan for several projects that are currently under construction including Trans Studio Theme Park in Makassar,Indonesia, and Nine Dragons Destination Resort located just outside of Shanghai, China. In Korea for Hallyu Dreampark, we are creating a dynamic contemporary theme park based upon Korean pop culture. Returning to the United States, we have begun conceptual design on several exciting new attractions with clients that include Six Flags, Paramount Parks, and Halcyon Studios.
The Hospitality Design Group is engaged in designing resort hotels and casinos in Macau; Qatar; Seoul, South Korea; Uppsala, Sweden; Shanghai, China; and Las Vegas, Nevada. In early 2008 we completed the total re-design of The Tropicana Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, the project features a massive new exterior design, 300,00 sq. ft. of themed retail, and an incredible 4D Boat Ride which will transport patrons throughout the complex. For the Galaxy Mega Resort in Macau we provided concept, master planning and schematic design services for the project which is now under construction and scheduled to open in 2011. At this time, the Hospitality Group is at work on over ten resort hotels and casinos.
