Goddard, working with designer Rebecca Mills, creates the mascot for the 1984 World’s Fair in New Orleans. To increase awareness for the Fair, the citizens of New Orleans were asked to name the character and following thousands of submissions “Seymour D’faire” was selected as the winning entry.
