2008 saw the opening of three Glow in the Park parades for Six Flags in Mexico, New Jersey and New England, and in 2009 we debuted two more new parades in Dallas and St. Louis. The all-new and re-imagined Monster Mansion dark ride, an attraction that Gary Goddard first created for Six Flags Over Georgia 27 years ago, became an instant success when it reopened in the Spring of 2009 with all-new characters and dynamic new special effects. In December 2008, the Grammy Museum opened in Los Angeles, followed in January 2009 by the opening of The Hershey Story in Hershey, Pennsylvania, both of which are based upon concepts developed by our company.
We are currently providing the concept, design and master plan services for Six Flags Dubailand and a new Six Flags project in Qatar, both highly exciting extensions of the Six Flags brand created with the international market in mind.
Trans Studio Theme Park & Resort is now under construction in Makassar, Indonesia, and the schematic design for Fushun Dream World, a new destination theme park in Fushun, China, is nearing completion. At this time, our theme park and attraction teams are at work on many theme park and resort projects in countries that include China, Korea, Sweden, Indonesia and in various locations throughout the United States.
The world has changed. Now, in an age where the whole world is instantaneously accessible, entertainment design has evolved beyond the point of simply being able to offer re-creations of international locales. Todays audiences are more sophisticated and nuanced than ever before, and in that, demand experiences that push the limits of whats possible, making them not only say WOW! right off the bat, but ultimately leaving them emotionally fulfilled, as well. Many designers approach a new entertainment design project with a blank page mentality, seeing a fresh canvas onto which theyll create an image. We, on the other hand, approach each new project, regardless of the medium, as an empty stage. Of course scenery is one important element, but the true heart of any project is the big idea that will truly transport guests emotionally to a world well beyond the pretty pictures. And its this crucial journey, finding the emotional content of every project, that we do better than anyone else. Our team obsesses over every detail of every project, and if weve done our job correctly, the end result is pure magic...a theatrical journey that transforms the world around the project, and forever enriches the lives of those who have experienced it.
